APD conducted a welfare check at about 11:30 p.m. on Trevor Dowdy, who appeared unconscious while sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle parked on the 600 block of Tenth Street. He was evaluated and determined to be under the influence of an illegal drug, according to an APD release. Officers proceeded to arrest Dowdy and search his vehicle; they found about 9.1 grams of heroin in plain view, several types of prescription medication not prescribed to Dowdy, as well as a syringe containing heroin and other heroin related paraphernalia.
In addition to his arrest for being under the influence of a controlled substance, Dowdy was booked at the county jail for possession of a narcotic, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a needle and illegal possession of medication. He also has an arrest warrant out of Sunnyvale for drug possession and another arrest warrant out of Michigan for violating his parole from prior drug convictions.
